This simple stone and timber-frame structure in typical Sikkimese style cannot cope with the current demands of the school. The building is also unsuitable because the ground-floor classrooms are prone to flooding during monsoon.Due to lack of classroom space, many classes are currently held outdoors. This is far from ideal as it frequently rains in this part of Sikkim.

Adding to these problems, the school building was damaged by an earthquake in September 2011 and is no longer structurally safe.
